CI Intensive Training

15-18 & 21-26 Dec 2021 with Vega Luukkonen & Ma Prem Tara

This CI intensive training is focused on both building a solid ground of basic and advanced contact improvisation skills and develop understanding of underlying physical principles of CI. Our approach is dance & somatics, flavoured with some heart and soul.

Our background and experience in dance is build on understanding the moving body from inside out, creating and cultivating organic and economical ways to move and dance. We will build the common movement language from solo movement, diving into floor-work, developmental movement patterns, building tools to spiral up & down, understanding the function of our joints and skeleton – and how we can move efficient ways without waste effort. We will look at very basic principles of CI, as “rolling point of contact”, support, following & leading, falling, use of momentum, swing and suspension. Backspace, counterbalancing, in & out of contact – concepts of spine and center as leading forces of our movement, and all the 6 limbs being “in the service” of our core…

We will also have space for self-directed learning, labbing, writing, talks and sharings, exploring questions and having discussions on different themes. Various  improvisation scores and structures help us to integrate the technical material in our dance.

TIME / PRICE

Basic training 15.12. – 18.12. sunday to wednesday 9.30-14.00 daily.                                                                                                                   – € EARLY BIRD till 15th Oct 2021, – € regular contribution, including lunch. Indian nationals – INR

Intermediate & Advanced training 21.12 – 26.12 saturday to thursday 9.30-14.00 daily.                                                                                                            -€ EARLY BIRD till 15th Oct 2021, -€ regular contribution, including lunch. Indian nationals -INR

Registration is opening September 2021.

There are a limited amount of full and partial scholarships for indian nationals available. Please apply with a letter of motivation and a description of what kind of support you need.
